The Last Of Us
03:07
|

Regardless of the trials and the tribulations
We face the unknown and we persevere
With what we've come to learn and what we've known
We've changed but we've found out on our own
That we can mould our lives to reshape reality
Because the world is more malleable than we've made it out to be
Even with the spores of ignorance and death
The infected have spread amongst the rest
But now we have to persist against this pandemic
With every last provision we've been given
The sense of urgency can’t overtake our making of decisions
If we want to live right now
And you can seek the light
Even though you're overwhelmed by the pain in life
You can face the other side
This is the human condition far from remission
This parasite can't be quarantined now
It will reek its havoc in the hearts of those who lead their lives in doubt
So step up or be wiped out
And scavenge back what's left of your sanity
To forage back some faith in yourself to face this outbreak
We're all now running a race we didn't choose to enter
So show some resolve
Survive together
Or die alone
'Survival of the fittest'
You think you can do it on your own?
Survive together
Or die alone
You think you can do this on your own?
And you can seek the light
Even though you're overwhelmed by the pain in life
You can face the other side
And we may turn to ashes
We may turn to dust
We're the last of those who'll seek the light
And never lay to waste or give up this fight
Give up this fight

Contaminant

A eulogy isn't meant for people who've done what you've done
If you didn't wake up, the world wouldn't even care
Because you've even tainted your own son
Who will probably forever wear
The scars you have given him teaching your contempt
And for making him hold up a hacked off head
I feel faultless revulsion, nothing but disgust
I can't really add anymore here, this just needs to be discussed
If we are to move forward as a race, this is a must
We need to diagnose the problem and meet hate with truth
And cut this disease off at its fucking roots
(But I know, that this line
Passes through every heart
Between the light, the light and the dark)
No God with a moral conscience could agree with you
Tarnishing mankind is all that you do
But we must accept that we are the same –
And that regardless of how wrong we are, we can change
If we are to move forward as a race, this is a must
We need to diagnose the problem and meet hate with truth
And cut this disease off at its fucking roots

Starting Over
03:08

For so long, detachment from life has worn my will thin
And fixation on my past has seemed like everything
I was clinging to something I hoped would last
But every time, time has buried what I wanted to stay
I need a constant, but I need a change
Wishing for what I want to come back
Has gotten me nowhere, and left me with nothing
But a void I can't avoid
I'm ready to move on
I'm ready to believe in me
I'm ready to overcome
I'm ready to look forward and achieve
I'm tired of being like this every day –
Stuck in a routine that always reminds me
How much I question why I remain this way
Repeating myself and staying the same
My heart; it bleeds
With the things I lost and what I think I need
But I won't be overtaken by this grief
And I don't want to hate me
I just want to be the man I'm aiming to be
I'm ready to move on
I'm ready to believe in me
I'm ready to overcome
I'm ready to look forward and achieve
This was my disposition to an actual decision
My distance from desire to be included in existence

Faulty Product

We've become afflicted by this new type of disease
Where we strive and we strive, but our hearts still deplete
We're consuming to attain an image that man has conceived
But does it really make us feel complete?
Because a bar has been set, an impossible ideal
So why should we reach for what isn't real?
We are not made to be commodities
Left to want what can't be achieved
So why is it that some of us end up deceived?
The cost of cosmetic construction
The price of this so-called 'perfection'
Is this what we call a developed world?
Shame. Shame.
Financial gain over people's pain.
Shame. Shame.
It's clear that we need a change.
People are wasting away inside of their heads
When there's so much more than being force fed by
Architects of a self-destructive obsession that
Distort reality and birth depression
We all come with an expiration date
We're just not meant to be a product they make
This repulses me.
It's a blatant lie to what needs to be
Do you really want to reach the end of your life
Knowing that you never discarded those lies
That satisfy a superficial and materialistic mind
Materials and possessions, but souls are in regression
And maybe this will be a lesson, learned about this world's 'progression'

Stand for something, or become nothing.
Ignite a fire inside and bring yourself to life
Burn. Find the spark that sets your soul alight
Nurture the ember that will begin the blaze
Let it illuminate and let your heart lead the way
And if anyone wants to hate, just allow it to fan your flame
People will use and abuse you and throw you to the side
Just remember to use it as fuel to break and ignite
They only want to see you fall
They only want to see you fail
But only you are who makes you, you
And you can prevail
Over and over again in my head
I replayed the words that they said
Seeking a means for it all to end
Because I let their doubt drag me to disillusionment
And even when these thoughts come back and won't go away
I know I still have it in me, to face the next damn day
Because I know that there is something to be gained
By beginning to make sense of all this pain
Burn. Find the spark that sets your soul alight
Nurture the ember that will begin the blaze
Let it illuminate and let your heart lead the way
And if anyone wants to hate, just allow it to fan your flame
Don't leave your ambitions to extinguish to ashes
Just ignore those who naysay and continue on your way
Like a plume of smoke, they will fade
They will fade

Endure, Survive
03:43
|

I know that it's hard bury your past and forget what's behind
When all these things that continue to plague you
Take up your time
And make you stay in your mind
So hear me out this time
Facing the trials and pains of this existence and
Making use of it knowing that it's going to end
Is to be more loving than one who lets go (of this life)
Never lose sight inside
(Endure, survive)
And remember when you struggle with your life
(Even through the toughest of times)
To suffer and to not learn
Is letting yourself burn
You could help change a pessimistic perspective, and
Remind someone of a reason they should live
You could be remembered for the difference you made
Instead of leaving a pointless loss of life in your wake
So pull yourself free from this indecision, and
Realize the value of this chance you've been given
Believe in yourself, there's a reason to change your mind
Even meaning in these words for you to find
Never lose sight inside
(Endure, survive)
And remember when you struggle with your life
(Even through the toughest of times)
To suffer and to not learn
Is letting yourself burn
Sometimes the hardest lessons learnt in life
Are exactly what we need to help us get back up on our feet
I've come this far and it's further than I ever would've dreamed
I'm not giving up that easily
Just watch me.
